Hi, I'm Alexa!

Alexa Herbers MS, CCC-SLP (she/her/hers)
I believe everyone should be able to feel the joys of communicating and connecting with others. I value strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming, and child-led practices.
I also believe in skill development in natural contexts. Targeting areas of need in your home, community, or a natural environment helps me understand how to best help you incorporate new skills into natural routines and small parts of your day. My goal is to help your child grow their communication by tapping into their interests and passions with people and places they love.
My experience expands public schools, center-based programming, mental health programs, pediatric clinics, and early intervention. Right now I am really enjoying treating and expanding my knowledge of the intersection of speech sound disorders, language disorders, and literacy-based intervention.
Outside of daily practice, I am also dedicated to advocating for fellow speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and the families we work with by serving as the State Advocate for Reimbursement liason on the Colorado Speech Hearing Association board as well as a volunteer for the Medicaid Committee for the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
While not doing all things SLP, I spend my time loving Colorado for all it is worth. With my family and golden retriever, Magnolia, by my side, I love hiking, running, camping, and road tripping through the mountains. Ask me about playing soccer, gardening, and what I've recently baked- these are a part of my weekly routine!
